Airbnb’s most wish-listed listings in the world for 2023

In January, Airbnb released a list of the most desirable new global listings of 2023.

Each of the 13 listings earned “Most Wanted List” status after only being on the list for 10 weeks, and the site may have gotten some help from several new ways to rank listings—eg. Trending and “top of the world.” Introduced by Airbnb. That new feature in November 2022.

The 13 locations span six countries and four continents, and range from a tiny house to a guesthouse on a working family farm.

This 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin in Whispering Creek is located in the Smoky Mountains.

Tennessee Cabin is part of Bearfoot Mountain Resort and is flanked by neighboring cabins. But the property’s outdoor patio features a pull-down screen and wooden slats for better privacy.

The modern Smoky Mts getaway cabin can fit up to four guests.

Hidden Haven – Cape Town, South Africa

This five-bedroom villa overlooks Hout Bay Beach and includes an open-plan kitchen and lounge area with a fireplace overlooking the mountains.

The home’s primary bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, and the other four bedrooms are furnished with queen-size beds and share two bathrooms. Housekeeping is included in the stay from Monday to Friday.

The Invisible House Joshua Tree – Joshua Tree, California

This iconic house is known as the Invisible House and was designed by film producer Chris Henley. The mirrored 22-story horizontal skyscraper is 5,500 square feet and is set on 90 acres.

The invisible house has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. Some amenities include a 100-foot indoor swimming pool, remote-controlled blackout shades, and a 13-foot dining table with stone wall-to-wall views.

The home was listed for sale in January for $18 million, according to Architectural Digest.

JT Luxury Villa – Joshua Tree, California

The desert property offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms, complete with one king and one queen bed. Guests also have the option of renting a casita bedroom, which can accommodate up to four additional guests.

Private MTN Retreat – Blue Ridge, Georgia

This cabin on Highlands Highway in Georgia’s Blue Ridge has three bedrooms, a bunk room, and three full bathrooms.

It’s also equipped with three levels of decks, a hot tub and a fire pit. The cabin also has a game room with a Mrs. Pacman machine, a large Connect Four and a table top Tic Tac Toe to make it the ultimate gaming experience.

Natural A-frame retreat – Grass Valley, California

Located in the historic mining town of Grass Valley, California, this triangular chalet has a lot to offer. Triangle Ranch sits on 3.25 private acres and has five bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

If you’re looking for an alternative stay, this cabin-like tower is the place for you. The house was built on 30-foot-tall steel legs and offers 360 views of the surrounding bluffs of Cape La Hue and other La Hue islands. The decks have two split alcoves, one facing west and the other facing east.

The east-facing alcove is where the property’s hot tub is, “perfectly oriented for moonrise and sunrise viewing,” according to the listing.

Taos Skybox “Stargazer” High Desert Retreat – El Prado, New Mexico
