HONG KONG, December 14, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR), a leader in secure, AI-driven networks, today announced the Chinese International School (CIS), a leading private school with a dynamic, bilingual community. , selected Juniper wireless solutions to build an AI-driven learning network to enable rich and immersive digital learning experiences for its students and teachers.
Founded in 1983 as Hong Kong’s first school to teach an international curriculum in English and Mandarin, CIS has grown into the region’s leading international school with a unique history of well-regarded achievements. With the growing number of more than 1,600 students representing more than 30 nationalities and the need to better support its Vision 33 road, CIS embarked this year on a journey to transform the knowledge network at its Hong Kong campus.
CIS has been at the forefront of blended learning, as it has prioritized the implementation of digital tools and technology to address the various local conditions that have necessitated school closures. As the area continues to deal with pandemic-related shutdowns, CIS saw an opportunity to explore improvements to its campus wireless network. The aim was to be able to welcome its students later in the year with a renewed and strong wireless network, to better cater for students who have become more technologically advanced and provide seamless access to intensive use of bandwidth, digital tools and resources.
In support of its commitment to providing a quality learning experience, CIS has partnered with Juniper to build an AI-powered network that can meet the changing and diverse needs of its students and staff. In addition, in line with the school’s sustainability agenda, which includes a goal of net neutrality by 2033, CIS sought to partner with a vendor that shares similar environmental goals. Juniper’s commitment to sustainability and recent commitment to carbon neutrality played an important role in the vendor selection process.
CIS has deployed Juniper Wireless Access Points in partnership with the Juniper Mist Wi-Fi Assurance service, providing students and staff with uninterrupted access to high-speed, reliable connectivity anytime and anywhere on campus. With this deployment, the school’s lean IT team can streamline network operations, accelerate troubleshooting and gain unprecedented insight into user experience. This is important for CIS, which now sees more than 4,000 devices connected to the network every day, from mobile phones to laptops to tablets.
With an AI-driven network powered by Juniper, CIS can support an increasing number of connected devices while also keeping up with current and future network needs as more students access digital learning tools and resources. Looking ahead, the school hopes to expand the use of Mist AI capabilities at its Hong Kong campus and bring AI-driven networks to its Hangzhou campus in the future.
