Cliff Emmich, ‘Little House on the Prairie’ and ‘Payday’ actor, dead at 85

Cliff Emmich, “Little House on the Prairie” and “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot” actor, has died. He was 85 years old.

Emmich’s representative confirmed to Fox News Digital about his death and said the actor had suffered a health battle.

“My client and friend of over 50 years lost his battle with lung cancer … He passed away at his home in Valley Village on Monday,” his representative said in a statement.

The fun-loving actor was born in 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and grew up in Los Angeles, California.

He was named after his father Clifford, who was a famous foreign car dealer and had clients from the Hollywood elite, including Clark Gable, Gary Cooper and Ozzie Nelson.

After graduating with the class of 1955 from John Muir High School, he went on to serve in the Air Force as a photographer.

Emmich then studied at the Pasadena Playhouse and went on to tour the country with the American Repertory Players afterward. He spent the summer performing at the Pink Garter Theater in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Cliff Emmich also added a fictional character with the name of "The Candy Man" during two sessions "Happy Days" the logical part "Fonzie's Funeral" in 1979.

The actress appeared in more than 90 films and television shows throughout her career, making her film debut in 1969’s “Gaily, Gaily.”

He was best known for his role in “Payday” as he portrayed the character Chicago, the driver of a Cadillac sedan with Rip Torn’s honky tonk singer Maury Dann in the backseat, in the 1973 film.

In the fifth season of "Little House on the Prairie," Michael Landon wrote a work directed at Emmich.  It is said to be one of his favorite works that he has been shown.

In the 1974 film “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,” Emmich went on to star as a Western Union guard, alongside costars Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges.

Emmich went on to play the role of a vigilante in “Halloween II” in 1981.

He also played a fictional character named “The Candy Man” during a two-part “Happy Days” episode titled “Fonzie’s Funeral” in 1979.

In the fifth season of “Little House on the Prairie,” Michael Landon wrote the role of Emmich. He played a shy and shy middle-aged man with a shy daughter in the episode “Inside Man.” It is said to be one of his favorite works that he has been shown.

The beloved actor has also appeared in movies and television shows, including, “Barracuda,” “Starsky and Hutch,” “Murderer, Wrote,” and “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
