The Dallas Cowboys will host the new-look Indianapolis Colts from AT&T Stadium in Week 13. With some extra rest after beating the New York Giants on Thanksgiving, the Cowboys will look to keep their momentum going against a Colts team led by interim coach Jeff Saturday.
A note for the game: The Cowboys will once again honor our country’s armed forces and National Medal of Honor recipients in the Salute to Service Game this week, as the Cowboys host the Colts on Sunday night at AT&T Stadium.
Lee Greenwood will sing “God Bless the USA” as part of the evening, and the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders’ shoes will also feature red, white and blue accents.
Cowboys players and coaches participate in the “My Cause, My Cleats” charity effort.
Rather than the traditional pair of blue stripes that run down the middle of the Cowboys’ helmets, the red, white and blue replicates the display — so popularly worn by the team throughout the entire 1976 season while celebrating the nation’s bicentennial. Must be in place on Sunday.
Even with the rest, though … the Cowboys are still dealing with sick-bay issues. From Thursday…
But Diggs and Gallup should be good for the game.
Dallas is no stranger to Sunday Night Football: matchup vs. Indianapolis Cowboys marks NFL-high 75th appearance SNF. Dallas has nearly 20 more appearances than the second-place Pittsburgh Steelers, who have appeared in 57 SNF games.
On offense, the Cowboys score the seventh-most points per game (25.4). However, since Dak Prescott returned from injury in Week 7, Dallas’ offense leads the league in points per game (33.8). Much of the credit goes to the Cowboys offensive line, which has allowed 14 sacks this season, the fewest in the NFL.
The Cowboys defense will face Jonathan Taylor, fresh off a 98-yard rushing performance in Monday night’s tough 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Taylor averaged 86.6 yards per game, fifth-best overall. The Cowboys, who lead the league with 45 sacks, eight more than any other team, will look to get after quarterback Matt Ryan.
Dallas’ defense continues to dominate, allowing the seventh-fewest points per game (17) while surrendering the seventh-fewest offensive yards (309.6) and fewest passing yards (177.7).
After Saturday’s opener against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Colts have dropped their previous two games in back-to-back one-score games. With Indy looking for momentum, the Cowboys need to finish the season strong. Dallas has the third-best record in the NFC but is still behind the first-place Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East.

Final word: Dallas defensive coordinator at Ryan, who coached five seasons in Atlanta:
“I love him. He’s a rare and relentless competitor. That’s probably one of the first things you discover about him, being around him for a long time. I describe him as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He looks real clean-cut and nice, but he’s a tough-ass competitor.
