For the third year in a row, Essex has been named to Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies list, a list of the nation’s 500 largest public corporations. Notably, Essex ranked 1stSt Listed in multifamily REITs. The ranking focuses on a holistic view of corporate responsibility that considers all three pillars of ESG: environmental, social and corporate governance. Additionally, the company announced that in 2023 it will join 483 other companies as members of the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a modified market capitalization-weighted index developed to measure the performance of public companies dedicated to reporting gender-related data. This reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay equity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies and external brand.
