Rep. Ilhan Omar is taking heat again — this time over Sen. for saying he has “tropes about Jews and money.” “Give me a break,” announced Ted Cruz, leaving an aide behind.
Omar (D-Minn.), who has been removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, was trying to defend himself in an interview with CNN on Sunday against allegations that he had made anti-Semitic comments in the past.
“I certainly didn’t know or realize that the word ‘hypnotized’ was a trope. I wasn’t aware of the fact that there were tropes about Jews and money. That was the most enlightening part of this journey,” Omar said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“I said these things on purpose in case people read my comments and it sounds like I have something against the Jewish community,” he continued.
Omar, the first Somali-American and one of the first Muslims elected to Congress, once compared the Jewish state to terrorist organizations such as Hamas and the Taliban and said the relationship between Israel and the United States was “about Benjamins.”
Omar’s explanation did not go down well with Twitter users.

“Ilhan Omar used one anti-Semitic trope in 2012, then said he learned all about anti-Semitism from Jewish organizations. Then he employed another in 2019,” said Avi Meyer, former managing director of public affairs and senior spokesperson for the American Jewish Committee. He said on social media.
“But didn’t she know there were tropes about Jews and money?” He linked an appearance on CNN.
Steve Guest, Special Adviser for Communications to Cruz, was incredible.
“Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar claims on CNN that he didn’t know the word “hypnosis” was a trope and that he didn’t know there were tropes about Jews and money. Give me a break. That’s BS.” He said on Twitter.

In 2012, Omar tweeted, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see Israel’s evil deeds. #Gaza #Palestine #Israel.”
Human rights activist Hananya Naftali has alleged Omer of lies.
“Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is not only anti-Semitic, but a vicious liar. ‘I didn’t know there were stereotypes about Jews and money.’ Leave me,” he said.
Former State Assemblyman Dov Hikind of Brooklyn also spoke Omar vs.
“Ilhan Omar certainly learned a lot about anti-Semitic tropes … Omar discovered that if he focused on ‘Israel’ and ‘Zionists’ instead of ‘Jews’ he could promote the same blood libels and get away with it without looking overtly neo-Nazi. A la Kanye,” He said.
In addition to Omar, McCarthy removed California Democrats Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from their seats on the House Intelligence Committee.
