Julian Sands: Who is the British Hollywood actor who is not in California?
A phone call from missing actor Julian Sands has revealed his last known movements, as his family continue to wait a week after he was reported missing.
The police revealed on Friday that he is a British actor, known for such films A House With a View and arachnophobia, he was walking two days after he was reported missing in the mountains of California.
Cell phone attempts have since failed, police said, possibly due to the player’s phone running out of battery.
It comes after The Independent showed pictures sent from Sands to his grandson Billy in September, showing the father of three mountain climbers.
Sands has not been in the Mount Baldy area since January 13, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said. He was thought to be somewhere on the famous Baldy Bowl Trail, which climbs 3,900 feet over 4.5 miles to the highest summit in the San Gabriel Mountains.
Search and rescue crews initially looking for Sands were forced to call off the search over the weekend due to the threat of flooding. Snow and fog continued to hamper the search in the days since.
The Independent he understands that Sands’ son Henry has joined the search. He is following the path taken by his father, with the help of an experienced competitor.
Police update: Sands is believed to be still on the move Sunday
Sands appeared to be on the move every two days after she was reported missing.
A spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said: “On January 15, 2023, cell phone images showed Sands going to the Mount Baldy area.
“An additional phone call from the phone provider was attempted but was unsuccessful, due to a lack of service and possibly a power failure of the phone.”

British filmmaker Cassian Elwes shared his best wishes for Julian Sands.
He wrote: “Since last Friday I have learned that my friend Julian Sands is missing from the bald. I’m exhausted. A close family friend who excelled in everything he did. I prayed a lot.”
Meanwhile, producer Frank Marshall said his “thoughts” are “going out to the family of” Sands, whom he called “a dear friend and an amazing actor”.

‘No hard time’ to end search for Julian Sands – authorities
Authorities say there is “no shortage of time” to end the search for Julian Sands, a week after the British actor was first reported missing in the southern California mountains.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said the incident was still being classified as a search and rescue operation, although snow, ice and fog continued to hamper operations on foot.

He was reported missing by his wife, writer Evgenia Citkowitz, on Friday night and was believed to be somewhere along the popular Baldy Bowl Trail in the San Gabriel Mountains. Mount Baldy is a 10,000ft peak located northeast of Los Angeles, in the Angeles National Forest.
Sands is an avid hiker and mountaineer who once described his happiest moment as being “near the top of a mountain on a cold cold morning”.
