Featuring the good, the bad and the ugly, ‘Look of the Week’ is a series dedicated to revealing the most talked about outfits of the past seven days.
Pamela Anderson made her name in red. In fact, the swimsuits she and her “Baywatch” co-stars wore in the 1990s are so iconic that Pantone has since named it “Baywatch Red.”
So there was, perhaps, no better color that the 50-year-old star could have worn for the premiere of Netflix’s documentary about her life, “Pamela, a Love Story.”
Swapping her character CJ Parker, Anderson arrived at the giant’s Tudum Theater in Los Angeles wearing a plunging neckline designed by Indian American designer Naeem Khan. A figure-hugging gown can be a no-no precise The shade was made by Pantone to mark the series’ 30 years in 2019, but it still evoked images of Parker walking around LA’s sunny beaches – often walking a little – in a one-piece swimsuit during her five seasons on the show.

Social media users have shown interest in pushing back. Responding to Khan’s eponymous label’s Instagram post, Victoria’s Secret model Tika Camaj described Anderson’s first appearance as an “amazing moment.”
Anderson’s stylist, Rebecca Ramsey, meanwhile wrote on Instagram after the premiere: “She made red.”
Part of Khan’s Resort 2023 collection, the beaded gown retails for less than $6,000 — making it more expensive than a “Baywatch” swimsuit that sold (along with a buoy and a signed photo) for $4,900 at a California auction in 2014.
Anderson completed the look with drop earrings and a pair of red satin shoes designed by someone with an equally strong affinity for the color red: Christian Louboutin.

The actor was joined at Monday’s event by his sons Dylan and Brandon Lee, the latter of whom co-produced the Netflix documentary. Speaking to Access Hollywood on the pink carpet, Anderson said her children have informed her about her style that remains iconic, decades after she emerged as the archetypical blonde bombshell.
“(My sons) would say, ‘People want the ’90s look, and people (wear red swimsuits as) Halloween costumes,'” Anderson said. “And I’d be like ‘No, this is crazy! It’s fun, it’s really good, it’s flattering. It feels full circle. We were just having a good time back then.
Now streaming on Netflix, “Pamela, A Love Story” shows Anderson’s struggles with her sex symbol status, as well as her troubled relationship with Tommy Lee and their infamous sex tape. Released alongside the new memoir, the documentary sees Anderson trying to, as he puts it, “take control of the narrative for the first time.”
