Prince Harry was offered the chance to speak at the coronation of King Charles III in May – but the judge declined.
“There’s a lot that can happen between now and then,” the ex-military pilot told Tom Bradby inside Thursday trailer for his upcoming ITV interview.
“But, the door is always open,” the 38-year-old continued. “The ball is in their court.
“There is a lot that needs to be discussed and I hope that they are willing to sit down and talk about it.”
In a free speech, which will be shown on January 8 before Harry’s memoir “Spare” hits the shelves, the king avoided writing-all.
“I don’t know how silence will make things better,” said the Duke of Sussex, adding that critics “misunderstand” his intentions.
Elsewhere in the clip, Harry confirmed that, “yes,” he still believes in the monarchy, but he’s not sure he’ll “participate in the future.”
Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, left their royal duties in January 2020 and made their official exit in February of the following year.
Since then, the couple has spoken out against the royal family in a March 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, as well as the Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan,” released last month.
“Spare” will be released on January 10 and has been billed by publisher Penguin Random House as “an incredibly personal and emotional story.”
Excerpts from the memoir were published on Wednesday, with one passage obtained by The Guardian detailing a physical conflict between Harry and Prince William over Markle.
“He grabbed me by the throat, tearing off my necklace, and threw me to the ground,” the teenager writes about the 2019 incident, saying he “landed on the dog’s plate, which broke on the ground” on his back and cut him. .
Harry also claims in “Spare” that William, 40, and Kate Middleton told him to wear the Nazi outfit he wore to a costume party in 2005, sources revealed to Page Six.
“I called Willy and Kate, and asked them what they thought. Nazi uniform [over a pilot uniform], they said,” Harry writes. “Two cried.”
Despite the family feud, Harry and Markle have both returned to England since leaving, most recently for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
Reports surfaced in December 2021 that Charles, 74, had invited the couple to his upcoming coronation.
The event, during which the monarch will be crowned, will take place on the birthday of Harry’s son Archie.
