Prince Harry reveals that Meghan Markle misled viewers about Kate Middleton feud during 2021 ‘Oprah’ special

Prince Harry revealed in his highly-anticipated memoir “Spear” that his wife Meghan Markle misled viewers of a 2021 Oprah Winfrey television special about the reason for his breakup with Kate Middleton.

While the 41-year-old former “Suits” actress claimed that Middleton, 40, was responsible for their spat over the flower girls’ dresses before the Sussexes’ May 2018 wedding, the Duke of Sussex, 38, wrote that his sister. Markle’s father-in-law also got angry over a comment.

In his memoir, Harry recalled that the Princess of Wales was upset when Markle told him she “must have a baby brain because of her hormones,” according to Page Six.

According to the Mayo Clinic, baby brain is a term that refers to “memory problems, poor concentration and absent-mindedness that many women report during pregnancy and early motherhood.”

Middleton gave birth to her third child, Prince Louis, a month before Harry and Markle’s wedding at St George’s Chapel in London.

During the Sussex sit-in with Winfrey, 68, Markle made no mention of the “brain of a child” comment. However, she addressed rumors that she had made Middleton cry before the wedding.

“The narrative with Kate, which didn’t happen, was really, really difficult and something that I think, that’s when everything changed,” Markle said at the time.

“The opposite happened,” Markle told Winfrey. “It was a turning point,” Markle admitted.

Markle alleged that Middleton’s crying at the wedding was a long-standing feud between the two, “that didn’t happen.” Instead, Markle explained that just days before the wedding, Middleton was worried about a flower girl dress that her daughter, Princess Charlottemeant to wear.

“It made me cry and it really hurt my feelings,” Markle explained. “And I thought in the context of all the things leading up to marriage these days that it didn’t make sense not to just do what everyone else was doing, which was trying to be supportive. “

However, Markle noted that the alleged feud over such media fodder ended almost as quickly as it began thanks to an apology from Middleton.

“It was a really tough wedding week,” Markle explained. “And she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized. And she brought me flowers and a note apologizing. And she did what I would do if I knew. That I hurt somebody, well, just holding him accountable. This.”

Markle later explained that it was difficult for her to get over being portrayed as the instigator of their feud.

“What was hard to overcome was being accused of something that not only I did, but that it happened to me,” Markle later told Winfrey. “Everyone in the organization knew it wasn’t true. I’m not sharing this piece about Kate to disparage her in any way. I think it’s very important for people to understand the truth. … She’s a good person.”

She added, “And I think a lot of what I’ve seen is the polarity theory, where if you love me, you don’t have to hate me. And if You love him, so you don’t have to hate me.”

However, Harry wrote in “Spear” that while the initial row was over the flower girls’ dresses, Markle’s comments added fuel to the fire.

The Duke of Sussex wrote that early in the marriage, Middleton became emotional during wedding rehearsals and during heated discussions with Markle about the fit of flower girls’ dresses.

Middleton texted Markle during the week of the wedding to say there was a “problem” with her daughter Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress, she said.

Harry explained that it was expected to be “French haute couture dresses” that were “simply hand-stitched”. [the bridesmaids’] Measurement” will need to be changed.

After Markle repeated that she should bring Charlotte in for alterations, Middleton reportedly told her that all the clothes needed to be redone.

According to the memoir, Markle commented on the “child’s mind,” which angered the Duchess of Cambridge.

Although the Middletons eventually agreed to bring Charlotte in for a change, Harry found Markle crying “on the floor” after the exchange. He noted that Middleton apologized and brought a card and flowers when he arrived the next day.

She later wrote that Markle was “angry” after being “scolded” over the comment and told she was “not close enough” to Middleton to make comments about her hormones. According to Harry, Markle was moved to tears again after being told.

The confrontation over the “child’s mind” comment was one of many revelations that have emerged from Harry’s bombshell memoir.

“Spear” is set to be released in the US on January 10.
