
Migos: Takeoff’s last Instagram story before his fatal shooting
Takeoff, a member of the rap trio Migos, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas on Tuesday (November 1).
Rapper – full name Kirshnik Khari Bhora – was 28 years old.
Police were called at around 2.34am local time (7.34am GMT) to reports of gunfire outside 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley in downtown Houston, where a private party of about 40 people was taking place.
Takeoff and his Migos bandmate Quavo were all there. Quavo – real name Quavious Keyate Marshall – was not injured in the altercation. The third member of Migos, Offset, was absent.
A dispute arose after a game of darts, and shots were fired. The departure was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death was mourned by industry representatives and fans, with tributes to the late rapper pouring out on social media.
Celebrities including James Corden, Drake, SZA, Outkast, and Khloé Kardashian shared posts remembering the rapper.
So far, no arrests have been made with Houston Police Chief Troy Finner urging witnesses to “come forward” with information about the shooting.
The police, along with the singer’s fans, have encouraged others to remove the videos of the incident that have been circulating on the internet.
Metro Boomin pays tribute to Takeoff
Metro Boomin, who produced Migos’ song “Bad and Boujee”, expressed his grief over Takeoff’s death on Twitter.
“I can’t even put into words what a genuine, bright and warm soul she was,” reads part of her heartfelt tribute.

However, Offset paid a strange tribute to his late Migos bandmate by changing his social media profile pictures to pictures of Takeoff.

The video of the creator completing the photo has almost 2 million views on TikTok at the time of writing.

An autopsy shows that Takeoff was shot more than once
The standoff was shot multiple times, the coroner’s report confirmed.
The Harris County Medical Examiner confirmed his cause of death as “infiltrating gunshot wounds” and ruled his death a “homicide”.

Kanye West honors Takeoff in a Twitter tribute
Following the recent reinstatement of his Twitter account, Kanye West followed his return by posting a photo in honor of Takeoff.
Alongside his image and The Migos rap trio during his first release Figure 2 album, West wrote, “Love forever”, followed by the next photo of Takeoff, Offset and Quavo, with the caption: “Family.”

Nicki Minaj became the latest rapper to pay tribute to Takeoff after his death.
The “Superbass” singer shared a photo of the Migos member on his Instagram Story Thursday (November 3).

The man is seen standing with a gun while Quavo, a member of Takeoff’s team, fights with someone.

A new mural in Takeoff’s honor has been painted in Atlanta
The basement in Atlanta, Georgia is now home to a mural of Takeoff.
Takeoff was a native of Lawrenceville, a suburb of Atlanta, along with fellow Migos star Offset.
The mural is under the John Lewis Freedom Parkway Bridge near Fourth Ward Park.

The Los Angeles Lakers basketball team honors Takeoff
The Los Angeles Lakers basketball team is among the latest to honor Takeoff.
In preparation for last night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, it was “all Migos music for the Lakers warm up tonight in a tribute to Takeoff,” said Lakers reporter Mike Trudell.
The Lakers were also the team of former basketball player Kobe Bryant, who tragically died in a helicopter crash in January 2020, along with his daughter Gianna and seven others.
