The ninth day of the Qatar World Cup 2022 over here. On Monday two heavy leagues take the field. Brazil needed 80 minutes to score but eventually slipped past Switzerland 1-0 thanks to a goal from Casemiro. It is yet to come between Portugal and Uruguay.

It was hard work for Brazil but they did it. Without Neymar, attacking often looked heavy for Brazil as the well-organised Switzerland side resisted imploding themselves for 80 minutes. But in the end, the Swiss fell to the ground and Casemiro was advancing from the defensive midfield into the penalty area to receive a strike from substitute Anthony that made the difference. Brazil are only the second team, after France, to win their first two matches, and have now clinched a place in the last 16.

Earlier, Monday was the all-time goalscorer in the World Cup. It all started with an exciting match and match between Cameroon and Serbia, full of action. The match ended 3-3 after Cameroon scored the opening goal but then towards the end of the first half Serbia managed to turn the score around and scored twice in less than three minutes. It looked like it was over for Cameroon after Serbia scored the third goal with Aleksandar Mitrovic early in the second half, but the African team scored twice with Vincent Aboubakar and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Later, South Korea and Ghana set the tone for Group H with five thrilling goals as Ghana won the match 3-2. South Korea opened the match with great possession and earned seven corner kicks in the first half, but Ghana scored twice from Mohamed Salisu and Mohamed Kodos to take the lead at half-time. A strong counter-pressing attack by South Korea in the second half resulted in two goals to tie things up, both from Cho Goo-sung. However, the winner of the match came from Ghana as Kudos scored his second goal of the match securing all three points for the African team.

At 2pm Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, will play Uruguay in a great showdown between two teams with a lot of history in this competition. Brazil will have to play against Switzerland without Neymar, who will be out through injury and will miss at least this second match of the competition. This game will take place at 11 am ET.
